When I add the smallest amount of throttle when driving I get a jumping at the gearbox or a miss fire

Not sure if that year still has plug leads or ignition plug coils , whatever could be breaking down under load . Or a plug .

Helps if you give more details like that in posting . You changed the fuel filter ?
