My 2013 barbarian auto broke down last night, it starts fine and idles fine and revs in park no problem. once in drive it doesnt rev then revs and pulls away slowly then the revs drop again. any ideas please

You really need to get it scanned for fault codes , too many possibilities and would only be guessing . If not been done for a while , you could try changing the fuel filter but a long shot .

it was serviced around 5000 miles ago. I think its more of a gearbox problem but not sure

May well be auto trans fault , but a scan should show codes . Here is an example of scanning which shows possible fault with wiring on auto boxes which can often be the fault rather than internal or sensors.
