2006 Mitsubishi L200 poor starting

Car: Mitsubishi L200
Year: 2006
Variant: 2.5 diesel old shape. Double cab trojan
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
The title says it all really. I've only just got the vehicle and it's not particularly cold weather but the darn thing doesn't like to start from cold. I'll have to check all the normal things like glow plugs and time of glow etc but this has only done 40K so surely I shouldn't be having problems with these. Does anyone know if this is a common fault? and of course if so, what the solution is.
Thanks.

i had the same problem so i just replaced the glow plugs with ngk ones problem solved also check the fuel filter for trapped air in the system there is a 10mm bleed nut on the filter housing undo this a little and press the pump on top to release any trapped air then tighten back up once satisfied that there is no air left in the filter
