I had priblems with overheating about 6 weeks ago. The garage fitted a new thermostat and all was well till the other day. The car started to overheating and the expansion tank was bubbling like a kettle. I have took radiator cap off and filled up with water and left motor running for approx. 1 hour. There is loads of bubble both small and large ones. Have checked oil and all is clear. Also the heating is working. Can anybody advise what else I can try. Thank you

Suspect the coolant pump.
feel the radiator with your hand when it's hot.
there ought to be a noticeable difference from where the bottom hose enters to where the top hose exits.
But from the sounds of it the pump has gone.
Of course all this based on the the coolant fan coming on/going off when it's meant to.
