Mini Countryman diesel or petrol

Hi I do not own a countryman as yet but I am looking. Posted about my zafira tourer 4 days ago and this morning its blown its turbo, recovered to garage won't be looked at till tomorrow but I strongly suspect it's gonna cost more than half it's value to put right going by quotes avaliable online. So Mini Countryman diesel or petrol advice will be 2 litre. My driving Once every 6 weeks 350 mile round trip motorways to visit family 4 days work from home so it will be on drive, 1 day 52 mile round trip all but 4 miles motorway. Annual trip to Cornwall from Midlands and regular trips to National Trust around the country so motorways, will do weekly trip to supermarket and local visits to friends. Given what I have read about Mini diesel engines need to have heavy motorway miles or problems Will the above lean more so to diesel or petrol please? Thank you in advance
