2003 Mini Cooper door will not open in cold conditions

My wifes mini cooper, the door will not open in cold conditions I assume there is a mechanism issue with the door any idea of the cost to fix the problem!!Any tips to prevent the problem, the passenger will not open at all but the drivers door will after some warm water

try sylicon spray on the rubbers or vaseline it will stop it sticking
