Wont start after batt recharge

yes i would say its a immoberliser problem do you have a spare key that you could try as you may have to take it to the dealer to get it reprogrammed

Rover's should still turn over just not start if the immobiliser is faulty. If it is not turning over i would suggest you have a starter motor problem or ignition switch problem. If it does turn over it is probably not recognising the key. To reprogram the key simply unlock the drivers door with the key ( NOT THE REMOTE ) then holding the key close to the car operate the dimpled button on the remote four times. You must do this quite quickly and do not open the door in between unlocking the door and operating the remote.
