This car has only 7,000 km on the clock, battery warning light (12 volt not charging) came on. took for repair, supposed to be repaired and now won't start, engine turning and turning but won't fire up and start

Get them back out to uplift car and repair under warranty . Better not doing anything yourself to try and fix it as they could maybe use this against fixing under warranty

Yes, it is MG that are seeing to the repairs, the latest is they seem to think the timing could be out? I wouldn't attempt any repairs myself I only know the very basics

" they seem to think the timing could be out? " On a 7,000 km car ? that should never happen unless there is something unusual that has caused it . Strange opinion but down to them to resolve it .
