In my view, these cars look lovely on the outside but they are riddled with issues inside. Had the car 4 months and the clutch was needing replacement. MG tried to blame it on my driving style but I've never damaged a clutch in 18 years. Due to MG arguing about the faulty car, independent engineers report was carried out. It identified car as having issues from manufacture. It was an enormous mission to get the repairs done under warranty but after a fight, MG relented. Car is in my view made of cheap parts that are unreliable. Car continues to stall at random putting road users as well as myself at risk. MG customer service is awful. Cannot wait to get rid of this car. Worst, very worst car I've ever bought. My first and definitely last brand new car I buy. Avoid these if you want a reliable car.
How reliable do you find the car?

Funny you should say that…my 71 plate MG ZS with 4500k on the clock and the clutch has just failed today. AA guy took one look and said it needs to be taken straight to the dealer as the issue will just keep getting worse. Now left without a car until tomorrow to see what the dealer has to say.

Worst and most unreliable car I have ever owned!!!

My 71 plate MG now 8 months old with only 6700miles on clock has had this problem. clutch felt like it was slipping then just lost power completely on the motorway - I had to be towed off by police as no hard shoulder. Very lucky to be safe as it was very busy! Will await news on car tomorrow but I have a feeling it may be the same issue as before (you can usually nurse a failing clutch) seems more likely to be engine related. Would not recommend!!

My 71 plate ZS with 7000 miles did the same, clutch wouldn’t engage had to get towed home but started working the following morning. Called the dealership and have to wait four weeks until they can look at it. What was your diagnosis when they looked at it

Same issue today. Clutch failed no burning smell. Had to get towed home. Car is 10 months old. Recovery said more likely master cylinder or gear chain

Mg zs mines is closer to 4 years old, bought new but always had issues with stalling. Forever turning off the start stop, but recently the clutch felt odd and then the gearbox just completely gave out had to get towed back home and now getting passed about different Arnold Clark MG branches as they seem to have back logs of cars for repairs ?
