Windscreen wiper motor soounds as if its catching on something when coming to end of the sweep of the windscreen. Then when you switch off the wipers they carry on stopping with the wipers at the middle of there sweep.

not 100% sure but i would most likely say that you may require a new wiper motor if the wipers are stopping in the middle of the screen when cancelled
