Occasionaly drops a cylinder but clears when restarted

Variant: 1.8 elegance auto

i can be driving along with no problems and sometimes notice a slight drop in power.when i stop the car is shaking when i restart ,the car is back to normal.my usual garage (not mb)told me the car was dropping a cylinder but he had no idea why. can anyone help please.
