2002 Mercedes Benz C Class oil colour

Hi guys,
I've just bought a Mercedes c200 2002 and on checking the oil it's a reddy/brown colour and rather thin in texture. It is fully synthetic and the service book says it has been changed about 1000 miles ago. Does this sound normal?

Sure it's not the auto trans oil level your checking ? Thats the colour of ATF normally ,
