1998 Mazda 323 car starting without fully turning key, and very loud straining noise coming from engine

tried to start car today, and for the first time ever the car started without fully turning key i.e when lights and radio should come on the car started up but with a very loud straining unusal noise from engine, not wanting to drive it, could anyone tell me what the problem might be, thanks

Don't know much about that car , but sounds like ignition switch faulty .Noise could be the starter motor still running once engine started .Could try wiggling key to see if it will clear as a temp . measure .
