2004 Land Rover Freelander rear door lock not working

The electrics that release the rear door lock and lower the window do not work. When I disconnect the battery and reset the window as per the user manual it works one or two times only then stops working again?

The freelander I am working on at the moment has an issue with the rear handle too. I'm putting it down to a partially siesed mechanism. Take the cover off and spray everything with WD.40 and try it many times
