2005 Jaguar X-Type car shows engine fault warning and switches to limp home mode

If i suddenly accelerate my 2005 Jaguar X Type, the engine fault amber warning light starts flashing and car switches to limp home mode. If car is switched off and then on again fault disappears but it happens again if you accelerate suddenly.

Get it into garage and get a diagnostic scan done and see what shows .
