2016 Hyundai ix20 the ignition key can be removed in any position,

can anyone advise me how this can be fixed.
The key can be removed when left in reverse or drive gars.

It's something I've never tried to do , or thought of doing on any automatic car with engine running that I've ever had or worked on . Can only guess ignition switch worn , faulty if so and / or inhibitor switch
