2014 Hyundai i20 battery was discharged so i charged it but when i went to reconnect the positive leas and then the negative lead the alarm goes off and the amber lights flash. do i have to reset something?

Car: Hyundai i20
Year: 2014
Variant: 1.2 hatchback
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I had disconnected both leads and then connected my charger for about five hours but when I disconnected the charger and replaced the car battery leads, positive then negative, an alarm went off and the amber lights flashed which stopped when I removed the negative. Is something needing reset because the car has never had an audible alarm?

My problem is solved. I put the negative lead on and when I pressed the lock button on the key the alarm stopped and the engine started as normal when I turned the ignition on.
Sorry to trouble you.
Regards Alex Fletcher.
