Boot lock not working

2008 Ford S-Max 2.0 TDCI
Car: Ford S-Max
Year: 2008
Variant: 2.0 TDCI
Hi,
The boot lock on my SMAX has stopped working. When i operate the key i can hear the solenoid working but the boot will not unlock.I think that something has become detached behind the boot door card. The problem is the boot is closed and locked, does anyone know how the plastic cover is attached and can it be removed with the boot shut and /or if i can manually unlock and release/open the boot. Any help greatly appreaciated.

Had something similar with mine.It was the floor covering that folds over the back seats when they are lying flat, was blocking the boot door.I pushed in the door as i opened the lever and it opened.Adjusted the floor cover and it didnt happen again
