2004 Ford KA air blowers blowing out hot air when set on cold.

Car: Ford KA
Year: 2004
Variant: 1.3
Categories: Leaks & Noises
My car is very basic and hasn't got A/c but the standand blowers. They appear to be blowing out hot air when set to cold. Any idea why this is happening and is it easily fixed and how?

Faulty heater control valve .

sounds like a broken flap valve inside the air distribution housing,Hot air from the motor would normally not be able to mix with the cooler air from outside the car.

as whittinghame says it is probably the heater control valve which is located under the bonnet just below the windscreen (follow the coolant pipes to it and you will see it plugged in),cheap to replace although on one occasion i did have one with the control panel gone inside but that is more rare
