2000 Ford KA indicator does not click off automatically

My indicators work fine but they only automatically click off on very shrp bends and only rarely. I have to manually click them off. Why is this? Is this fixable? Will it be expesive?

It could be the switch itself or
the plastic collar on the steering column that cancels the indicator .
