Never heard of any faults like that so far ,better get it into dealers for checking under warranty .

Sounds like there is a leak coming from the manifold for the exhaust, seals might need renewed or there could be a hole.
When the car is running hold your hand over the end of the exhaust while getting a friend to check under the hood and you should be able to feel exhaust pulses coming out of the faulty area.

Hi Guys, I recently have had this problem and looking throught the posted answers I was starting to get a bit worried. If your issue is the same as mine then there is a quick and free fix.
Look at your dipstick. Is it seated correctly?
Mine was sat up about an inch and a half. I dont know if it had vibrated loose or if I hadnt replaced it properly after checking the oil last time, but pushing it firmly back into place has fixed the 'fumes' smell in the KA.
Coincidentally I have also been getting poor MPG for a while, it seems to have normalised this also.
Hope this helps someone :)
