2001 Ford KA losing power

Car: Ford KA
Year: 2001
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Occassionally loses power completely when foot off the accelerator. This can happen when coming to a junction or when breaking. Does not seem to be a consistent problem. Re-starts immediately with no problem. Drives well otherwise and no odd sounds that I know of.

If you mean the engine cuts out / stalls ,IAC (idle air control valve )is a common cause of this fault , but other possibilities .

I had the same problem with my old fiesta and after several trips to the garage it was eventually diagnosed as the oxygen sensor. This solved the problem
