2001 Ford KA speedo not working all the time

Hi,
I have a problem with the speedo it sometimes works but other times doesn't work but then will flick up and start to register the speed.
The milometer always goes round whether it is working or not.
Any advice on how to fix this? Could it be a connection or will I need a new part??

Could be speed sensor or maybe just connection at sensor.
