My temp light came on while driving home tonight and i checked under the bonnet when i opened my water tank smoke/steam was coming out and the coolant bubbling over. This has happened a few times now to my car and i'm not sure the garage are fixing it right or know whats wrong - can anyone help?

so are you loosing coolant i would suspect the bottle will be cracked really common on the facelift kas, top it up mark it with a pen then run it to opperating temp and chefk 4 leaks

I wasn't losing coolant until i opened up the tank - the water is at the fill level on the bottle. As soon as i opened this up that's when it came spilling over the side. Would the strut bearings have anything to do with this by any chance. The light just came on tonight with no other problems i don't have a leak as there has been no water under car when leaving this park.
