2000 Ford KA rear electricals

The inside button by the steering wheel to open the boot has stopped working and the rear windscreen wiper has now given up. Though strangely it did come back to life for one day and then went again. So it can't be a fuse can it? I have one beam bulb that needs changing and my rear right headlight unit is currently held in with sellotape. Please help! This car is falling apart around me :(

Check for broken wiring where it passes through at top of tailgate ( inside rubber sheath )
