2007 Ford KA freezing throttle cable / mechanism

Car: Ford KA
Year: 2007
Variant: 1.3
my 2007 ford ka is suddenly suffering from early morning freezing-up of the throttle cable or mechanism. initially the throttle pedal will not depress, then with extra force, it goes down to full travel and will not return - leaving the engine screamimg. Later it will free-up and operat normally. Can I do anything to prevent/cure this?

Had the same problem, was told that it was moisture in the throttle cable housing which freezed up, told to open up throttle housing and spray it with a carb cleaner to solve problem!

It might not be the mechanism , i had sim ilar problem with my daughters KA2 i cured over revving by taking off air intake hose and cleaning the aluminium inner body and the littel sensor inside after that no over revving .
Its the 43.5 inch flecxi hose that joins the air intake housing to the injector unit . hope this helps
