1997 Ford Galaxy auto gearbox 4th gear

hi there, i have a ford galaxy 2.3 ghia auto 1997 R reg that is not selecting 4th gear, all other gears work perfectly (nice and smooth). i have tried to check fluid but can`t find the gear box dip stick. i have also been told that there is a pressure pipe that feeds the gearbox that selects top gear, and have been told that this could have come off or may have split. Could someone help me please.

Automatic gearbox oil on a ford galaxy?
"to check the level on a galaxy autobox, you have to warm up auto to about 30 degrees run it for 5 mins, then on the sump theres a small 4mm allen key bolt whilst car still running and in park, remove the allen key bolt, if theres oil draining the level is ok if theres no oil coming out you need to top it up, to drain theres a 24mm bolt, remove that and it will drain it should take around 5 ltrs of oil "
If not low on ATF , you will need to get it checked out / scanned to find fault .

hi can anyone help please . i have ford galaxy 2L automatic 96 p reg .
when put in d very slow. then from 3rd gear when gets over 3000rpm ,the revs increase but no speed dont go into 4th gear .if you put gears through manualy 1to3 ok not final drive
also looking for obd plug

hi there i have the same car with the same problem i have replaced the oil and filter in the auto box but its still the same as it was some one as said it can be the ribbon in the box is earthing out or one off the solenoid has gone , i just woudered if you have had some better luck than i have add, and have you sorted the problem out,thank
