2009 Ford Galaxy potential electrical issues

For the last few months, I've been having several electrical issues which all seem to be related. It started off with the air con and radio which would randomly turn off for no particular reason. Switching it back on using the button seemed to confuse things so I just had to leave it and wait until it came back on, usually after about a minute!

A short time later, the information panel behind the steering wheel started playing up - half the screen went blank or parts of it became pixilated.

One day, when the air con and radio were playing up, my husband pushed the information panel, which then solved the air con not working issue! So now, whenever the air con is playing up, we have to push the information panel to get it working!

Hubby has taken the radio panel bit out and cleaned all the connections and can't seem to see anything obviously disconnected. Both panels are clearly linked somehow as pushing one makes the other work!

Any ideas?
