When replacing the fan belt how do you adjust the tension?

there will either be a nut/bolt around the alternater area or there will be a spring loaded tensioner that is more likely to have these are about 19mm spanner to relieve the tension then remove the belt take note of how it comes off and then do the same is reverse order
