2005 Ford Galaxy 1.9 td
Car: Ford Galaxy

Ok in first 3 gears but jumps in and out of 4th

The problem is worse in drive (auto) than using the semi auto option but still happens

The only way you will get it solved is to get it scanned with appropriate equipment for fault codes .

Ok thanks

Could it be as something as simple as needing transmission fluid changing or topping up or likely to be mechanical

I haven’t bought the vehicle it’s just what’s been told to me by the seller on eBay

Bit suspicious as it’s on for £850 and they’ve accepted £400

Tempted but not if it’s £700 to replace the box

It could be fluid , electrical or internal or mechanical . You would think if it was a simple fix the seller would have done so prior to offering for sale . To take a price drop of that magnitude is also suspicious , could be a money pit . I would walk away or maybe run away !!

Yes could be a money pit

Issue is intermittent and it’s part ex disposal

Bought a sharan last year for 400 and it’s only been other mechanical stuff that needed replacing due to mileage

Thought auto box issue but drive shafts

That’s 07 plate and had 183k on clock

Galaxy is 05 and 150k but depends on use abuse and a certain amount of luck going by the forums, plus certain known issues
