turn fan switch to position 1 push air con button switch lights up turn switch to position 2 or 3 or 4 light goes out ?????

Sounds like resistor pack needs replacing .On some models it is on the left hand side of the heater box behind the glovebox .You need to remove glove box to get at it .

yeap no leaks ive changed heater switches too

Just a thought , does that model have a pollen / cabin filter ? If so ,has it been checked in case blocked ?
