Problematic starting

I've nbeen having problems with my car starting when it starts car runs smoothly turn engine of and sometimes it wont start I have to turn alarm on then of sometimes that works and it starts or turn key put foot on brake gearstick in neutral then start sometimes that works I have been told it could be immobiliser or the electronic fuel pump when I turn ignition I can hear the buzzing sound of the fuel pumpand the clicking from gearox

Best to get the car checked for codes as it could be a number of issues ,other idea is to try using your spare key just in case it,s a transponder issue,that would rule one item out.

Is it an automatic ? If so may be inibitor switch .
