My Gaxaly TDI, has started having a problrm, when i am driving it, at around 60/70mph she fine, but if i start to excelerate she starts to shudder, but if i take my foot of the pedal, it stops ? Its not happening all the time, but mainly when im on the motoway, when she shudders, its seems like you are driving bumpy road????? but like i said, if you take your foot off the gas,the shuddering stops, but when you increas the gas at this speed, she starts to shudder again.....

Can you get it to do the same at a lower speed by loading the engine

No, have tried to overload the engine, by keeping foot on the gas, and on the clutch, and its fine, at low speeds its ok ???

Can you feel it in the steering wheel, things like that are not always engine related at that speed, it could be an out of shape tyre, suspension problem, cv joint etc

No can't feel it in the steering wheel, you feel it within the vehicle, if you know what i mean, but it only does it, when you increase your speed ? but has soon as you take your foot of the gas, it goes, and then put your foot back on the gas, its back, if carry on increseing your speed, by taking your foot on and off the gas, it seems like you drive though it,

From what you are descibing it sounds like you have a really bad tyre or wheel balance problem as if you can drive through it to a higher speed and it goes away. Get your wheels balanced or checked, also a quick way of getting tis for a check is to swap the front wheels for the back

sounds like a dual mass flywheel very common on these 1.9s done many myself with same faults

When you say, mass flywheel... what do you mean, and in what way do you mean it is a common fault !!!!
Answered Nov 25, 2008 (15 years ago)
In my experience a fly wheel problem is usually engine speed related rather than wheel speed so you should get the same fault in any gear at any speed how ever don't rule it out, you need to have the vehicle test driven and inspected by a qualified techie.

yes, i think your right,.... i took it out last night on the motoway, and kept it at 65/70mph , and kept in 5th gear, and it was fine ????? now i am confused.....
