2002 Ford Galaxy not going in parking -gear

Variant: 1.8 tdi ghia
Misfueled with unleaded; rescue towed car home; got this problem sorted and afterwards out of the blue any attempt to select parking gear has failed. can't understand what could have gone wrong. please help

when it was towed back was it a suspended tow if not was it just towed in on a rope i have seen several auto boxes get screwed up from towing them not saying that this is the problem .you should also check around and make sure you have not disturbed ant cables ,wires etc
