1998 Ford Galaxy revs dropping right down when stopped

When we are stopped at lights etc the revs are hovering at 1000 but suddenly just drop right down as though the car is going to stall.

take air filter off, get a can of carbclean NOT easystart (which is crap), get someone to rev engine and spray down intake in short bursts allowing engine to recover before continuing DONT have your head anywhere near while doing this !!!!!! carbclean is highly volatile one stray spark BIG fireball,if theres any crap in the system this stuff will shift it

Clean idle control valve and throttle body .
