Heater not working

my 2001 1.8td focus, the heaters/blower is not working, its blowing air out ok, but it is always cold air. even when the car has been running for a while. have changed the thermostat. no difference

It sounds as if the heater control flap is not working for what ever reason .You will have to check at heater to see why .It could be heater control cables / flap controllers .

where is the flaps located and how do i check them??

Inside heater box with outside controls .Check movement of flaps when changed from hot to cold setting .
