Front Seats won't recline. Plastic lever doesn't operate

The plastic handle at the top of the seat back on both seats is broken and won't operate the cble to release the seats to fold to allow access to back.

Common problem on the fiesta, you can buy the parts at ford to repair it but can be fiddly if you dont know how to do it, Ford will be able to repair it but dont know what they will charge.This might help.

im pretty sure you can replace just the plastic handles as when you push them in they actually clip into the cable. other than that you have to strip the seat cover off to fit the whole cable good luck

I know this is common problem I have replaced 5 catches in 4 years, my local garage knows me well now. Does anyone know how to solve the problem that causes the seat release to become stiff in the first place. Hopefully That will save me a small fortune
