Revs hunting

1999 Ford Fiesta
Car: Ford Fiesta
Year: 1999
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I have a 1.25 fiesta and when you put your foot on the clutch, the revs dip below 500rpm thus causing the engine to stall! If it doesn't stall then the revs are very unstable!

On inspection i discovered a split breather hose which i have replaced and there are no other obvious signs of a vacuum leak!

Spark plugs and HT leads are good!
I have cleaned the throttle body and the idle control valve!

The solution is probably to replace the idle control valve but i was looking for any other suggestions as to what could be the cause before buying the new part!

Many thanks!

I think that car changed in that year , you could check the suggestions here for the earlier model concerning engine revs .
