Background light wont go off

Hello,
i just bought the car (fiesta facelift end of 2006 model) and just noticed that dashboard light wont go off.


Is this a serious problem.
Can i try windows solution, tacking off the battery connector for a moment.

Usually stays on for a certain time when car locked and then cuts off later .Is yours staying on continuously ?
