1999 Ford Fiesta car over reves after warming up

i have a 1999 ford fiesta 1.4 zeetec it just stsrted to over rev it goes back to 10,000 reves if i put the brakes on i have to keep on putting the brakes on to get it to idel normaly the breathing pipe on the inlet manifold had collapsed i changed it but it didnt make much difference its heavy on fule giving me 280 miles max on full tank can any one tell me what is wrong with it and how i can fix this problem and also how many miles i should get on a full tank form 1.4 zeetec engine thanks email [email protected] thanks

Could be idle control valve / throttle body sticking and needing cleaned . Could check TPS .

where is the throttle valve and what is tps as i am a layman when it comes to technical letters such as asb tps and so on sorry please help i also wanted to know where is the air pressure valve situated is it where the rubber pipe goes into on the inlet manifold this pipe had collapsed i changed it and if this is the valve which many people say needs cleaning then do i need to take the manifold off to get to remove it for cleaning can u please tell me if i can down a manual for this car thanks
