Car thinks the boot is open

My car keeps telling me my boot is open but when it's 100% locked the dash lights stay on and the interior and footwell lights then shortly later the alarm goes off which is a nightmare! Have no idea where to start all the wires look perfectly fine the latch and button looks fine not sure what to do having to keep in unlocked to stop the alarm going off and the battery is still dying because it still thinks the boots open

Check the wiring that passes through into the top of boot lid under rubber sheath for damage .If not that , usually a micro switch on boot lock that may be sticking .
