Your Battery is so flat that the alternator can not run all your stuff and provide a spark you may need to recharge the battery or better still replace it

yes it could well be a dead battery 'I had the same fault on my daughters car 'it was the idol control valve which was a very easy job' the car would start but would cut out all the time 'would not idol ' thought it was the battery at first but got a jump start then disconnected the battery for a few seconds ''it should have still ticked over with the alternator providing the electrics but it still cut out 'so I checked the alternator and that was fine 'so I changed the idol control valve and it started and ticked over great ''and ran great 'but as I say that was on my daughters car yours might be a different fault'hers was a 2000 1.4 or 1.3 cant remember now 'but that shouldn't matter 'good luck
