1999 Ford Fiesta engine revs when throtle not touched

when i change gear or hold clutch in the car seems to rev itself up to 2000 revs, if i come to a junction i have to hit the brakes hard so front end of car goes down and the revs go back to normal,,can someone please help..thanx

Could check the throttle position sensor and clean throttle body .

i have disconnected the tps by unplugging it and it still does the same thing

Check throttle body is clean and not sticking , check all vac hoses / pipes for leaks .

theres no air leaks,im going to take the throtle body off and clean it see how it goes
