Electronics / battery problem

2010 Ford Fiesta
Car: Ford Fiesta
Year: 2010
Categories: Leaks & Noises
When I turn off my car it continues making a whirring electronic kind of noise (don't know how better to describe it). I didn't really think much of it until I started having problems with the battery. For the past couple of mornings the battery has been completely dead (when I try and start the car I only get the elctronic ticking noise, the engine doesnt even try and start). I then noticed that my phone was still connected to the bluetooth even though the car was off, and also that the lights on the dashboard remain on. I presume it is this that is draining the battery. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?
Many thanks,

Ezme

most cars have a shut down period after turning engine off where electronic components re-set idle valve fuel rail etc but this should not run battery down i would check that engine cooling fan is not running after shut down for too long as this takes a lot of current and could drain battery dash lights should go of when key removed and car locked

As above regarding coolant fan, could also check ignition switch, Try jiggling switch when ignition lights on and see if it makes any difference.
