1999 Ford Cougar pulling away making a tapping noise coming from engine area (not necessarily the engine itself)

its gotten worse over a few days but when i pull away (A) it feels like its lost some power (B) making a noise almost a squeaky/tapping noise from engine Area.

could be a number of things, you would benifit from to trip to your local garage for a look, useing it may be causing more problems
