2004 Ford C-MAX air box blowing up

Car: Ford C-MAX
Year: 2004
Variant: 1.8 Ghia
Categories: Leaks & Noises
The air box on our C-max exploded when the engine was started from cold recently. A brand new air box was fitted and within two weeks the same thing has happened again when the car was started. The air box has blown itself apart. Can anyone tell us what might be causing this?

are you starting it and moving the car small distances then turning it off causing the plugs to flood with fuel and so having to crank it for a long time and causing it to backfire (for example moving it to get another vehicle off the drive)also you could try replacing the plugs if it is having difficulties starting straight away

Check engine cooling temp sensor , may be faulty sending wrong info to ecu re. fuel needs .Also check engine breathing / hose etc o.k and not building up pressure .
