2000 Ford C-MAX central locking not unlocking boot

when I double click the remote to unlock all the doors and the boot, all the doors unlock but the boot doesnt unlock. The only way to unlock it is to click the 'open boot' button twice after I have unlocked the cars doors. Any one know a solution or point me in the direction of how to fix it. I thought at first it may need a new battery but it wouldnt work remotely at all then I suppose?

sounds like the switch which will be located at the rear somewhere,had a similar problem on one of my previous cars.
