1999 Fiat Punto stuttering

The car was serviced about 1 month ago, it had top part of the exhaust changed, since then its stuttering and loss of power when driving it, when came to a stop smoke coming out from under the bonnet.

First thing to check would be oil and water levels . If o.k get it back to garage who serviced car / replaced exhaust part and let them check it out , if as you say , it all started since then .
