1998 Fiat Punto cambelt snapped

the cambelt snapped whilst the car was running will this damage anything on this model with it being a 16v and not an 8v ??? i know that this is not a problem on a 1.2 8v engine but not sure if the valve clearance is the same. any knowledge would be appreciated. thanks

Yes this is an interferance engine and valve damage will have occured, sorry.
