2002 Fiat Punto battery keeps going flat

Despite a brand new battery it keeps going flat within 24 hours despite a 40 minute run

Check alternator output , if not that ,check for battery drain .But test alternator first , simple check with meter .

sounds like alternator knackered,ideal charge rate should be between 13.5 and 14.5 volts,if the charge rate is ok then check for a drain on the battery
